As a Software Engineer/Server Administrator your focus will be to make sure PiM and Talos run smoothly. Are you the developer who doesn't stop at code but knows how to apply his expertise to every layer of the platform. Server and database will be your primary domain, but our team is used to work on all parts of our platforms, server to client, through which you will directly see the results.

Your biggest impact

Thanks to your effort our systems and services will not only work flawlessly, but they will also comply with the newest standards for technologies and applications. You make sure that the environment runs smoothly and create insight in jobs and automate if necessary. You will structure and document the TALOS and PiM environment, to make sure that easy handover within KPN is possible. Part of the project will be migration of PiM to Azure or AWS.

 

Your role as

For this vacancy of Software Engineer/Server Administrator Payment and Identity at KPN you know where you want to go, you are decisive and capable of organizing things quickly. You have a hands on mentality, with which you perfectly fit into the team.

Furthermore we can count on your:

  • a minimum of 6-8 years relevant working experience;
  • System Administration
  • key words: Linux, Windows to a lesser extent
  • Rest API/json;
  • certificates;
  • Server communication with banks;
  • MVC;
  • Javascript/jQuery;
  • mySQL/MariaDB;
  • MQTT/AMQP;
  • Application security;
  • High performance/peak volume transactions.
  • Being comfortable managing a webserver (Linux, Windows)
  • full stack .NET/C# developer skills is a plus;

 

What you bring to the table

As a Software Engineer/Server Administrator Payment and Identity you will be actively involved in the maintenance and support of our servers for Talos and PiM, and the development of the PiM app for a safe, password-free Netherlands. You will ensure a flawless execution of payments and transactions on the TALOS platform, and keep certificates and communication with different platforms up to date.

  • You will structure and document the TALOS and PiM environment, to ensure easy handover within KPN.
  • You will maintain and develop the Talos platform and application and you will build new features for the start-up app PiM
  • You will optimize data structures and ensure data integrity as well as helping with the implementation of the architecture of new applications.
  • You will contribute to the knowledge of the team by exchanging feedback and giving your opinion on possible improvements.
  • You will perform tasks on server-management, back-end development, front-end development and testing.

 

Your initial task will involve creating an overview of all aspects of the technical environment and how to manage it, also getting more insight into the aspects of the platform surrounding the main applications. This includes among other things mapping jobs/scripts/queries and other supporting software which has been put in place over time to perform tasks not handled directly by the platform. These parts, and all configuration and maintenance/management involved should be brought into scope by documenting and if required be migrated to a solution more fitting to our main software solutions and common frameworks.

You will join the PiM / TALOS team. A corporate startup within KPN. It’s a small, diverse team of developers, product managers, marketeers and sales employees working in Zoetermeer and from home. We’re all enthusiastic and driven to make the Netherlands a bit safer in a way that is understandable and simple for the user.
