DevOps Engineer

Together with your team you ensure that our customers have carefree access to their mobile services. You make this happen as a DevOps Engineer of one of our most important networks: the Mobile Core.

As a DevOps Engineer you are responsible for the development of our current network to a future state-of-the-art virtualized network. This includes our 5G technology within our new Mobile Core, in which network functions are increasingly being implemented as software functions and their control is increasingly automated. Together with other teams, you are end-to-end responsible for KPN's Mobile services.

We are looking for a driven and experienced DevOps Engineer who has extensive experience in network innovation, security and management (DevOps) in the Mobile Core Signaling Network. In addition, you meet the following profile:

• You have thorough and up-to-date knowledge of the Mobile Core network and are able to maintain and develop network functions;
• You have solid knowledge and experience to efficiently automate processes and functions in the mobile network (such as testing);
• You are curious, contribute to our Agile way-of-working and actively share knowledge within and outside your team;
• You are willing to participate the On-Call 24/7.
• You are a result-oriented, proactive personality with the ambition to always want to go one step better.

What are you bringing us?

You are a DevOps Network engineer with the following substantive knowledge and expertise:

• HBO/WO work and thinking level.
• Experience in Telecommunications, specifically in 2G/3G/4G domains Signaling domain (STP and DSR);
• Understanding of the Mobile Network both at 3GPP Functional Level and Signaling Flows Level, as well as the whole End-to-End Mobile solution, in Design, Testing and Operations;
• Experience in IP and , both Legacy and Software-Defined Networking;
• Experience in Telco Cloud and Virtualization: Virtual Network Function and Cloud-Native Network Functions;

Knowledge

• Hands-on experience (design, test, implementation, and maintenance) on mobile signaling platforms, namely MSTP and DRA:
• Experience on Oracle STP and DSR
• SS7 signaling / SIGTRAN protocol stacks advanced knowledge
• Diameter signaling advanced knowledge
• Excellent knowledge/experience of mobile core domain:
• Knowledge of the different traffic flows within mobile core: 2G/3G/4G
• Understanding of 3GPP technical specifications related to mobile core network services and functions
• Development and operations work experience (design, test, implementation, and O&M)
• IP networking: Switching, Routing, Firewall and ACL’s.
• Security knowledge: Identity and Access Management, secure protocols, vulnerabilities management, etc.
• Knowledge of traffic monitoring tools, such as Tekelec/Oracle PIC.
• Basic Knowledge of test tooling, such as GL-tool/Landslide.
