Senior DevOps/Cloud Engineer – TechBase AWS Team

TechBase is the foundation of our engineering community where we drive change and innovation in our organization with our diverse skills and knowledge. AWS Team is part of the TechBase community and in this team, we are responsible for the entire AWS Landing Zone including the provisioning of AWS accounts, and the security and cost control of this environment to create a solid and secure cloud foundation. We deliver quality solutions and managed services using a wide range of technologies and the full range of cloud-native services to the DevOps teams to deploy and maintain their applications easily on the public cloud.

As a Senior Cloud/DevOps Engineer you are responsible for:

  • Investigating, testing, and implementing best-in-industry, innovative tools, and software to improve the entire AWS Landing Zone.
  • Maintaining and proposing improvements to optimize AWS Landing Zone in the field of automation, security, robustness, management, and cost-efficiency.
  • Controlling a high level of “hands-off” handling of cloud technology through the automation you have applied.
  • Partner with DevOps teams and other parties such as Amazon to continuously assess new strategies, market trends, architectures, practices, or technologies to support rapidly evolving needs and maximize development efficiency.
  • Communicating and promoting the paved road to DevOps teams by creating documentation, giving demonstrations and presentations in the Guilds, and being open and active to support them as needed.

What do we expect from you?

  • Proven experience as a DevOps engineer for about minimum of 5 years.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience within AWS in the implementation of cloud initiatives.
  • Strong experience using infrastructure-as-code such as CloudFormation and Terraform.
  • Strong programming and scripting skills – preferable python 
  • DevOps automation experience including setup and configuration of CI/CD pipelines and surrounding ecosystem. (GitLab)
  • Understanding of container orchestration platforms like Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Experience in Unix / Linux environments.
  • Commitment to quality, performance, security and efficiency. 
  • Love of all-things automation, and passion for open source technologies and tools.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Proactively pick up things.
  • Experience working with Agile, Scrum or eager to learn Agile Way of Working.
  • Certificates on AWS is a big plus.
  • Experience regarding security and FinOps is a plus.
  • Experience with Serverless architecture is a plus.
