Project description
JDE R&D business is taking steps in its digitization journey with a diverse portfolio of projects. One of the main contributors to the digitization roadmap is Project U-Turn Phase 3, which entails further enhancement of the PLM application (Hamilton Grant) with a focus on

  • Improving data credibility
  • Improving user adoption
  • Implementing design enhancements

Hamilton Grant PLM application has been implemented at JDE in October 2021 with company-wide use. Robustness of specification data in Hamilton Grant becomes increasingly important as it is required by other systems and projects (e.g. ESG reporting, calculation of recyclability tax). In Phase 3 of the U-Turn Program, we will improve the data credibility in Hamilton Grant by improving the data creation process and making sure the data is accurate at the point of input. Furthermore, the current data in the system will be cleansed with an action plan to measure progress and improvement. A data governance process will be put in place to ensure that data remains credible at the source. Also some design enhancements (e.g. additional spec fields, specification audit trail) will enable more accurate data and more efficient processes.
In addition, Phase 3 will focus on improving user adoption by focusing on change management activities (communication, pulse check, change network, training material update) with the aim to drive continuous improvement.
The project is run in a hybrid way, combining certain waterfall components in agile methodology, together with vendor Hamilton Grant.
